i guess not or maybe my question had no point......anyway i just used this camera to film my first show and ran line out of the jb3 with an inline attenuator to the mic in on the cam and the sound came out pretty good as far as i can tell....video looks nice and crisp....the only beef i have with this cam is that the tape gets loaded in the bottom of the cam, so ifs  it has to be removed from the tripod to change tapes...could be worse i guess, but im pretty happy with the results.....anyone else happy with this cam?

No comment on the cam itself (not familiar with it), but just wanted to mention there are devices that you can use to get around the problem of dealing with a bottom-loading cam on a tripod.  Basically, it looks like a small block that you screw into the cam's bottom and then screw the block into the tripod mount.  Can't remember where I saw it, but these things are available at places like B&H Photo and other online camera mega-stores.  By elevating the cam a few inches above the tripod mount, you can then open the tape door and get tapes in and out without having to take the cam off the tripod.

I've had this cam since 2002 when it came out, very solid picture quality for a consumer one chip camera especially if you are using manual exposure. The problem with mine is that about 2 years back the I-Link output died and I can't properly capture video to my PC from it anymore.

I'm glad someone brought up this camcorder.  I've been very pleasesd with mine through the years.  What length tapes do they make for it?  i'm thinking about taking mine to my next taper-friendly concert.  Do they make 2 hr. tapes for it.  I don't want to go through the hassle of changing tapes.  Are there any other options?

Thanks,
Mako
