Here's a question for everyone here... and I'm sure I'll get some different takes on this.
I've got a show I'm heading to in about 4 - 5 hours time. Have been to this venue a few times this year and have rolled with different mics. My cards sounded a little muddy (at soundboard area) so I was able to "brighten" them a touch in post. I was there last week for another show and rolled standing about 15 feet from the stage, dead centre. Got a great capture except that I found there was TOO much bass in the recording.
The question is, knowing the bass can be quite heavy at this venue, would it be better to run the roll-off for this show or just "fix it in post?" Ultimately, if there isn't enough bass, you can't add it but it can always be removed if there is. Just curious as to what people think about this. I know the roll off should never be used with the cards -- Chris stated as much to me.
