Title: Newbie(to electronics) needs a push in the right direction....
Post by: Xpanding Man on July 18, 2005, 11:54:14 AM
can anyone recommend a good webiste/book for someone with no understanding of electronics whatsoever ?  i'd like to be able to build some battery packs, but would also like to understand how/why they work.   i don't even know the diff b/t AC and DC really.

this is part of a larger goal of understanding the electonics behind all of my gear.  thanks in advance for any pointers :)

Read this to get a basis of AC, DC, and what electricity is: http://science.howstuffworks.com/electricity.htm

Then check out the forums at BatterySpace, they have a lot of the beginner questions answered: http://forums.batteryspace.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=9&sid=1f841f6b4cc850324cfa8b6a4c8d0f79

Then check out the main page of BatterySpace to get a basis of what all is available: http://batteryspace.com/

If that doesn't fix you up let us know and we should be able to set you straight.
