Title: Synching 24 bit audio to DVD

I have an audience-shot Todd Rundgren concert that I have the video for, but the audio is lousy and I want to synch my 24 bit audio to it.  I have DVD decrypter and that'll strip the old audio track out, but how or what software do I use to insert and synch up my audio to the video?

Can a DVD have 24 bit audio?  I think it can, right?  It will take up more space than 16 bit so you'll have to account for that.  What format is the original video in?  If you have it in DV-AVI then you don't even need to strip the audio out.  Just import it into Vegas, sync, then delete your original track and render as MPEG-2 or render as DV-AVI and encode externally.

I changed by audio to .AC3  not sure if that was a bad move or not.

AC3 is compressed.  If you want to use AC3 for your final DVD you need to do all your editing and render the video and audio separately from the Vegas time line.
