Title: 9v Longevity in the Denecke PS-2???
Post by: Cheesecadet on May 29, 2006, 12:42:03 PM
Anyone know approximately a 9v battery in the PS-2 lasts for?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for external battery pack for the PS-2 (i.e. rechargeable Li-Ion, or the like)???

Thanks!

when i had a ps2 i always had bad luck with 9v's and i built a external power pack from a rat shack adaptaplug, 3' adaptaplug cable and 9.6v rc pack

cheap and easy

i have a 9v rc pack and charger you could have for like 10$ + shipping, bet i even dig up the cable part that plugs into the rc pack to attach the rat shack cable u could have too

I never felt comfortable carrying only (1) 9v to a show when I ran the PS-2. I was running MBHO 648's.

I'm running a test right now with the C4s and a PS-2 with a duracell 9v. I'm at about 5hours 45 minutes and still going strong... i'll let you know what i end up with.

And the results are in...........

The LED came on at 6 hours 22 minutes. At about 7 hours 13 minutes the LED started to dim and the signal into my R1 started to decrease. On this battery I recorded 1 show that was 2hrs10min, 1 show that was 1hr, and 4hrs 5min of experiment.

So I would say that you are safe to record atleast 6.5hrs on one duracell 9v when using the Studio Projects C4s.
