Title: energizer e2 photo lithium AAs
Post by: firmdragon on November 18, 2003, 09:05:49 PM
I've been using these for a while.  On average how long do they last powering an M1?  I'm thinking around 5 hours, but how much more?

and is there a rechargable battery on par w/ these?

Pretty darn close, yes.  Check the Archival Info section for some popular rechargable battery options.

of course they never tell you what the mAh is on non-rechargables.

I = V/ohms , that's all I know

I've used a set of those liths for 2 shows straight in my D7...

Then I was a complete dumbass (as I was in my younger days) and tried to run another show.. got most of the way through it and bam, the D7 died, no warning...

yeah...energizer lithiums are the best.  a little pricey, but so worth it.  i had 4 for my M1 that lasted me a total of 2 moe. shows, a rwtc show, and one other one setter show.

sorry...to answer your question i'd say 5-6 hours.  the thing is my M1 will have full power for most of the time, about 4-5 hours, and once it dropped to 3 bars it would drop to 2 and then 1 and then die real quick, say in under an hour of use.

i agree. i've taped about 5.5hrs with a pair in my M1.  after that, the 'battery' level does drop quite fast.

the reason why the battery meter drops quickly and suddenly with lithium batteries is because they have different discharge characteristics than regular alkaline batteries.

with alkaline batteries, as you use them, the voltage slowly drops until there is no more juice left.  so your deck's battery meter is looking at the voltage of the batteries.

with lithium batteries, as you use them, the voltage remains constant (or much more constant than alkalines) throughout their entire life.  so your deck doesn't see a voltage drop and assumes full battery power.  and then they die.

hope that explains it.

if i were to go to a store here locally and buy a bunch of lithium batterys, the cops would be waiting at my house for me when i got there. people use the lithium to make methamphetamine here....

i've seen the Energizer Lithium AA rated at 2700maH from an independent discharge test.

the highest capacity rating i've seen so far for a NiMH is 2300mAH (Lenmar LM-PRO415-23).

i've ran my M1 for 4hrs with a single pair of these on a consitant basis.

sadly enough, i think people here think that

at minimum at least one person is caught per week making meth in a county with less than 5000 occupants
