The adapter that came with the Nak mic clips has an ID of 5/8. I'll have to measure the OD and the pitch but 3/4 is about right. It's the only thing I've ever seen that uses something larger than 5/8.
Since there seems to be some confusion here, simolino would you care to elabaorate what the adapter's original use was?
mako, where did you find a tap? I've called all my local sources looking for a 5/8-27 tap and die set and they all say such a thing isn't made. When I tell them them it's a music industry standard they tell me they can't get one, even the place that had the oddball 14-whatever it was that I needed to installl a Peugeot water pump. The owner of the car balked at the price of the set until he learned the only alternative was replaceing the engine. If your source of the tap has a t&d set, please let me know.
< The original Nak clips have an ID that is greater than 3/4 as a 3/4 course bolt slides right in past the threads. Don't know how much larger as the local hardware store only had bolts to 3/4 or metric to 16mm. I did measure the thread pitch for the mount. It's 14. Best guess for the size would be 21mm seeing how the 3/4 slid in with no problem. >
