Anyone using Porta Brace AR-FR2LE (bag suggestions for FR2-LE)
« on: September 08, 2008, 11:11:08 AM »
Hey now,

Is anyone using this bag yet?  I'm trying to decide if it'll hold the unit, as well as a pair of cmc64's, a rowi clamp, kc5's, and a shock mount/stc bar,
or if i'd need to get a bigger/seperate bag.

I've looked at the nova 3, and it looks as though it'd be very tight.  Anyone got a great suggestion?  I'd like to have a bag that'll hold everything, but not have tons of extra space.

thanks,
-bry

Most of us use a Nova 4 for the FR2-LE.  Plenty of room for the recorder and your extras.

the PB AR-FR2LE holds only the deck; no room for anything extra

A FR2LE, another in the PB and a FR2 in the Nova 5-AW on the floor - it may be overkill for what you need but the 5 holds my FR2, the LE, 2x 9.6v RC batts, 3x wallyworld DVD batts, a set of Beyer 803s, a set of Berliner CM33s (think Neumann 184 size), a pair of Shure A81WS and DPA 0896 screens, a 4mount t-bar, 4 SSM shocks, and various adapters in the internal compartments; externally there are the flashlight, pad, sharpie, pen, ear plugs, etc as well as two sets of cables I run the strp through.

I just purchased a used sonic case that looks like it will work great. The separate pouch can hold my two sets of xlrs and the deck, mics, t-bars, power cord, extra batteries (7.2v) etc. I like the openings on the side that allows me to run the deck in the case. Will take it for a test run this weekend. MSTaper
