Title: Sound Devices MP-2: Discontinued
Post by: plucks on June 23, 2003, 11:50:47 AM: Hey all. I figure this is the right section to post this notice I got from Sound Devices:

"6/20/03

Product Discontinuation: MP-2
The MP-2 has been an important product for Sound Devices. It has proven to be a great tool, particularly for live music and sound effects recording. With the evolution of the MixPre and the introduction of the 302, we have seen a decline in MP-2 demand. Therefore, the MP-2 is being discontinued immediately. We expect to be out of inventory shortly.

For users needing to maintain the same budget as the MP-2, the MixPre is the logical choice for many applications. For applications requiring MS matrix functionality or the ability to control stereo gain with a single fader, the 302 or 442 mixers are incredibly capable products. "
