Lovin the split omni's
« on: June 04, 2004, 07:10:44 PM »
wow, love the sound this config creates....taped a few bands this past weekend running a 3' spread with the TL's set to omni...what an amazing sense of space, what a deep soundstage, killer bass, good shit, can't wait to try it more this summer, ran hp1 on the V3, glad I did, still got the phat bass.

HP2 is the lower setting, I prefer that but it really depends on the situation...

regardless, +T and congratulations... I loves my omni's!

still havent used the omnis yet, but I tape alot of stuff with drum machines and midi pads which routinely put out 30-35hz rumbles and have never had to use the the HPFs on the V2.
even in "boomy" rooms, the rumbles are still hovering in the 100+hz range, most HPFs roll off around 85 or 120hz, so I don't see the need to use the HPF, running hyper seems a more logical choice to me in those instances.

I also tried omni's seperated about 8 inches apart....made a real nice recording also, not as much space, but damn does it sound natural.
