Title: Best heavy-duty windscreens for ak caps?

Wondering what the most effective ws some of y'all are using with th neumann ak caps-running actives?  I saw the post over on the Oade board.  Was wondering whether the shure a81 or the neumann ws100 would be better to use?  I don't see any specs on the shures and wondered how much more wind-noise might be suppressed over the neumanns?

The big neumann ones are what I use and they work like a charm.  That said...I have never taped in a monson nor do I ever plan on trying, so who knows!

and they work fine (fit)with the actives?I have the big dpa's and they stock screens that came in my boxes w/the mics but have yet to use them outside and was just wondering this the other day w/summer tour facing us in a couple weeks.

The DPA windscreens seem to fit most mics with or without bodies.  I just used the 0896ws last night with the 4022s and not a glitch with em!
It actually helps to run a windscreen like this with caps, ie 4022s, ka200s, because a deadspace of air is created between the cap and inside of windscreen since you can't push the caps all the way into the screens.  Even when running with bodies, it is best to create the deadspace.

ferget those newman softballs, they look like mickey mouse's head on that stereo bar, get the dpa 896 ones for slight wind, bar fans, etc, and get the shure 81s for monsoons, i got the ones that skalander has and i like them a lot a lot a lot
