long enough for 2 sets ;)

How long will one run using regular AA's??
-
wheres the link to another thread....*waits for it*
-
long enough to run a 90m tape from start to finish and then some

It depends on the mAH rating of the lithium/AA batteries you're using and how long the damn things have been sitting on the shelf.
I get 4+ hrs out of my Powerex 2000mAH NiMH rechargable AAs.

the blue package e2 lithiums will run a D8 for over six hours...
two run my M1 for two sets, the ride home, and a first set the next night. BUT - the battery meter is not reliable at all because it is calibrated for NiMh batteries... it will go from 2 bars to straight up OFF in like 15 minutes. it may not even show one bar or flash at one bar at all.
i have run the e2 blues in both my M1 and D8 with much success, but the best advice i can give is to run 'em for six hours then chuck 'em, no matter what the meter says.
i just got powerex 2000s for xmas, with the quick charger, can't wait to run 'em tomorrow!

I had 4 lithiums for my M1 (only takes 2), but those 4 batteries lasted for...
A long set of Robert Walters 20th
Two Nights of moe. in October (4 sets)
Steve Kimock (2 sets)

from 2 bars to straight to zero...exact same thing happens to me. it will be full for a long time and then once it hits two bars it goes to dead in like 15 minutes. very strange.

A whole show with the light, and you'll be fine.

it's because of the nature of how lithium batteries operate and release amps, some one gave a better answer a few weeks back.

I would suggest using NiMH rechargeable AAs. They will save you a ton of $$ in the long run and even the short run compared to lithium batteries.
I've got the 2200mAH batteries for my D100 and SBM-1 and they run both units for 4+ hours easy. Now I'm waiting to get a reliable Hard Drive recorder so I never have to worry about buying tapes or batteries ever again ;D

i power my d8 with a 6v battery. That sucker will go for days. Id rather carry a 6v with me than change batteries in and out.
