Title: Windscreens
Post by: hhf32 on May 10, 2004, 11:51:42 AM
I'm looking to pick up a pair of windscreens. If I only get one pair of windscreens would I be ok with the big DPA's for all around use. Most of my taping is done indoors but I want the option of going outdoors with them. Would the big DPA's be ok for indoor use too, without affecting the sound to much??

I have the Oktava Mc-012's.

I remember seeing the pics of those "dead rats", did'nt you make them yourself?

I might try this set up, with the smaller DPA's, thanks.
I'm still curious if the bigger ones would affect the sound much indoors?? If anyone runs these indoors I'd like to see what they think.

Radio Shack actually carries a bunch of pretty cheap ones.   I've used those once in a while if in a crunch of I've forgotten mine.   They also come in handy in the outdoor season...if someone forgets theirs.

Maybe $5 per

Thanks for all the replies and input. I'll probably just go with the bigger DPA's to cover all the bases.

the ratshacks won't really hold up in a real wind. I might have some you can use for b-roo...

You looking for ones for the Superlux's?   Let me know how any of those workout because I too thinking I need some for mine other than the crappy ones that were included for outdoor use.   I am only probably going to be taping only a couple of outdoor shows so really don't want to spend a ton of money either.
