Title: 24/96 via USB 1?
Post by: johnw on July 05, 2004, 10:20:07 PM
Is this possible to do? If so, would it be hard to hack drivers for PocketPC devices? I'm asking because some of the upcoming Windows PDAs will be able to act as USB 1 hosts. A MiniMe>Loox would almost be stealthable.

I tried to send 24/96 over USB1 with my UA5 -> laptop. Didn't work to well.

Could have been the computer too. It needs some loving after my sister downloaded a TON of spyware. Hopefully I can get her up and running again. I'd be happy to run 24/48.

I've done 24/96 over USB plenty of times, using an EMI 2|6 and an iBook 500/700.

Now whether or not the PocketPCs will do it is another story.  If I was really going to try PDA recording, though, I'd just try the PDAudio from Core Sound.

The usb could be a means to el grande storage...........
I'd be happy to test it, if anyone can tell me if it has a CF slot.
Otherwise, it would be USB audio in and USB data write to external drive......Hmmm, I wonder..... ???

24/96 is not going to do too well with usb.  You'd be better off using firewire or its equivilent (sp?)
