Sony Vegas : Background
« on: May 22, 2009, 12:57:16 AM »
I made a music video with an artist and the background of the scene was not very nice. Is there a way to change the background of the scene?? I know in movies editors can change whatever background they want so is there a way to change the background using Vegas pro 8.0??

Not unless you shot the artist in front of a green screen.

To do what you're asking you have to purposely shoot in front of a green screen to start with.  You can use Chroma Key in Vegas to replace that with what you choose.

Technically I think you can accomplish the same thing to some degree with almost any solid color background.  Bright green just works best for digital video.  It used to be blue for regular film.

You can do it with bezier masking but that will take a VERY long time.

yep - if you have Sony Vegas - not Vegas Movie Studio you can do a mask and rotoscope it

may not be bad if shot from a tripod but either way its a lot of work
