I had to use several adapters to get from the 1/4 inch female monitor out to the TA3F in, via a mic cable, so I'm sure that the likelihood that it was out of phase was probably high.  Was there something that clued you in to that problem?  I know it when I hear it via a demo disk a la Stereophile, but it seems harder to detect when "just listening" without a comparative source.

I've just been susceptible to it I guess. I don't guarantee that's what it is, but that's just my estimate.
