garbage bags? Skalinder, you are such an amateur ;)

Construction Contractor Bags! They are much heavier and will not get rips and tears like regular garbage bags. They are so strong I carried my whole rig back to the condo in that torrential downpour in Telluride last year

open up the bag and put your gear down inside before the show even starts, that way you're not scrambling to cover up in the rain.
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

True, true - but in this case, at least, out of ignorance.  I actually never use 'em - I always have the topcase from my motorcycle with me into which I drop my gear if it rains.  Even though the top doesn't close completely with the actives hanging out of it, drop a towel on top of everything and then close the lid and it's totally dry inside through even nasty weather.  My top case solid plastic is sturdier than your pussy contractor bags!  :P

Don't believe I saw anyone mention stakes... a must have to adhere your stand to the ground on windy days... especially, if you've got an umbrella at the top.

the stakes are good.
I also brought in one of those foldable tables kinda like the folding chairs.  It was used to set the rig on around mud or you can sit on it if it was dry.  Never had a problem getting it in the roo- i just said it was a stand.
I also brought a lot of water and ran out every time.

forgot about those, used them at the roo w/ some string.  The was the first time i had used them and was happy.  Had some time to kill when i was breaking down so i did some tackle tests and it took A LOT to move the stand.

As for trash bags i used my contractor bag and carried my gear around like santa during the Full down pour.
