help!!
« on: September 14, 2004, 12:55:51 AM »
Can anyone tell me if this model --->Sony NetMD MZ-N505 can be used to record shows?  I have NO idea what to look for when buying my first minidisc recorder and I can get a good deal on this player.

Anyone?

It can.  I've used it.

Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

I'm new to taping and i was wondering if you could connect a MZ-N505 into a Soundboard instead of using a mic? And if so, what kinda cable do i need? Thanks in advance...

Depends on the board.  Could be any number of connectors.

What's your budget? This is going into an MD?  Are you going to use an outboard pre-amp or just run straight mic-in?  Do you want to do open taping or stealth? What kind of music/venues?

you already have the deck or are gonne be picking one up? there's one for sale pretty cheap here...http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=59528.0

you can grab an internally powered sony stereo mic for pretty cheap and run that straight into the deck. if you are gonna go another route of mic i suggest you run a battery box instead of mic in, it will handle the spls much better. you can grab some church audio mics and a battery box for really cheap, with that md deck in the yardsale you could be looking at around $200 or so.

Yeah. since Depeche Mode have been touring I have herd a few recordings made with this, and some 4060's and the sound quality is pretty close to a DAT sound.

That's not a bad idea for tight security. I've never had problems with the JB3 though and even gone through heavy patdowns (knock on wood).

Yes i got a deck (MZ-N505), just need a mic or a cable (to plugin into a soundboard).
Prefere to tape from a soundboard, but as said before:
