vpi 16 vacuum record cleaning machine...

does anybody know anything about this thing, specifically, where and how i might add a discharge tube, or tank, or even sponge..? i thought i had the tank in the correct position, but it is not collectiong any of the old fluid (lord knows where the stuff is going  :o )

is this in fact the model 16, not 16.5?  my 16.5 had a tube with a clamp running out the back.  emptied it every 4-5 records.

on the 17 there is a catch basin, im not sure on the 16.  what i would do is call up vpi, failing that, call your hi fi dealer, failing that, call acoustic sounds- they sell all that stuff.  i have a different model, so im not sure if things have changed.

the 16 was replaced by the 16.5

i talked to the folks at vpi, and they told me that it was either a sponge, or a basin...

i really wonder where the stuff is going...
