Title: Recommend an external DVD DL burner?
Post by: bhoy on January 18, 2010, 10:27:34 AM
I'm in the market for a new external dual layer DVD burner for my laptop.   Can anyone recommend one that works well for them?  I mostly burn DVD's as backup's, concert DVD's, and audio cd's.

Thanks,
Bill

do you need bus powering or would a full size drive in an external chassis work?

preference of USB or firewire?

Connecting to the computer via USB would be best, and AC power would be fine.  I had a nice Plextor unit that connected via USB and took external AC power.  Worked well until it died.

Thanks,
Bill
