Topic: Do various microphone batteries have unique sonic characteristics ?

I sort of noticed that the signal seems to actually flow through the battery? (am I right on this?) Which made me wonder if batteries had a "sound" to them...Or will any two brands of say, 9v batteries sound the same?

i dont think you are hearing the batteries, but other factors assuming you are getting all the juice that your equipment needs. 

are you talking about mics like the c1000's that have a battery in them?

Well like a nakamichi 300...I think the C1000 uses a snap on type battery...

i would tend to believe that if the battery was full and providing the right charge through the entire night then which battery you use wouldnt matter.

a battery will not affect the sound, because if it did then you would have straight DC in your audio path which is very bad.  it would be the same effect as an amplifier clipping.  notibly if DC was induced through your mic preamp the input of your (insert name of taping device here) would shut down or clipp(brickwall) due to a large DC offset.
