"This is a common practice we have on the bus; debating facts that we could easily find through printed material. It's like, how far is it today? I think it's four hours, and someone else comes in at 11 hours, and well, then we'll... just... talk about it..." - Jeb Puryear

Just saw this as well. Amazing, two high quality units released in just a couple days of each other. But then again NAB is coming up soon so they want to release new things.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

Just out of curiosity, what for? Are you going to send mics directly into the PIX220 and bypass the recorder for easier syncing?

Right off the bat, this would replace a 702, fumbling with tapes for the camera, and post transfer capture all in one box. Feed your mics to a V2 (as in Mark's case) if you don't like the preamps and feed the video image so you don't have to deal with the dvi capture during transfer. Then it's just a matter of a minor resyncing of audio if your mics are not near the camera.

To me, if there was a Staples Easy Button for video/audio recording, this would be close to it.
