Hey everyone if you are thinking about the digimod for the UA-5 do it yourself. I have never soldered or anything of the sort untill now. Read the article it is clear and concise. Here are some things I thought I should add.
1. Buy thin diameter solder. I ended us using .15 diameter solder. I made the mistake of buying to big of solder at first get the smallest they have. (640-35 e)
2. Get a low wattage soldering gun (I used 30 maybe should have used 15) (640-2067)
3. The traces are above the copper circles and I couldnt even see them till I magnified at 5x. (63-848)
4. Two scrapes with my exacto knife severed them. The pressure I used was like scratching your arm (if that helps)
5. I used radio shack intercom wire to bridge the gap. (278-0858)
6. You need some helping hands to hold the wire as you solder to it. I bought this. (640-2063)
7. With all the crap I bought I still saved about $100
Its Very Easy and makes the UA-5 tons better. Now how about that warm mod...

NICE!

I second the warm mod! I want to have the mod done but would rather doi it myself of find a way to get the same effect in post

Now we need a how to on the p-mod and warm mod. I'm sure it's no where near as simple but I think we have some pretty capable hands here (this does NOT include mine....I had a tough time making mic cables that worked!) :P
On the oade site it says they change some capcitors and op amps..........which ones is the question. I have a good idea on the op amps and caps but just not sure.
