Just for kicks, I ran a comp between the Oade R-4 Transparent and Warm MODs. Recording info about the samples:

Source : Schoeps MK5 (cardioid) / KC5 / CMC6 > Oade Transparent MOD Edirol R-4
: Schoeps MK5 (cardioid) / KC5 / CMC6 > Oade Warm MOD Edirol R-4
Record Format: 24-bit, 48 kHz
Conversion : Edirol R-4 > USB > PC
Edit : Samplitude SE v8.3 (16-bit samples only: resample / dither)
Final Format : 24-bit, 48 kHz / 16-bit, 44.1 kHz
I used a single pair of mics with XLR splitters running to ch1-2 and ch3-4 on the R-4, phantom on for all 4 channels. Statistics for the WAVs reveal Average RMS values are pretty darn close across the Warm and Transparent files (especially considering the R-4's not terribly detailed level meters):
- L channel: 0.31 dB
- R channel: 0.27 dB
Full stats below for those interested. Want 'em matched closer? Do it yourself.
