Title: Car adapter for JB3 in Toronto?????
Post by: Burnt on March 26, 2005, 11:21:14 AM
Hey All

Just wondering if anyone in Toronto knows where to pick up a car adapter for the JB3 so I can run both a 9.6v or 12v external battery (just not at the same time).

I realize that creative has them available but $30 for adapter + $20 shipping + plus duties and taxes is just a little to expensive for me to justify right now.

I've looked on Radioshacks webpage and can't seem to find anything.  The one I've seen listed in the US (part #273-1818) is not available on the Canadian site.   :(

I'd love to be able to just pick one up somewhere but if there is a Canadian online retailer that would be ok as well.

Wal-Mart isn't an option.  I refuse to even step foot in there stores and will not support them in any way!!!

So are there any other choices?.

did you look into a generic car adapter at someplace like zellers or canadian tire?  They might have something similar.  I just made a voltage regulator, similar to the ones in the JB3 external power II thread.  Having never soldered much of anything before, and never using a schematic, it came out pretty decently.  Just don't look at the soldering  :D  It works, and cost about $20 with parts from radio shack.
