h120 error: "Data error (Cyclic redundancey check)"
« on: July 28, 2008, 04:01:00 PM »

Trying to transfer a recording.  It had no problems transferring any of the other files (from file rec_0042 and before, and then from rec_0044 forward, as you can see in the back window in the image).  I could probably plug in a double male 1/8" cable to real-time transfer it across my soundboard into Soundforge, but I'd rather transfer digitally.  Has anyone experienced this?  Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks in advance!

those errors usually point to a failing hard drive, afaik.

Yep, my dying drive did the same, along with some abnormal clicking! I did the CF mod and it's fine now  :)

yep, means the computer can't read the data (same error will occur with badly scratched data CDRs). There might be a way to copy the file out...try opening it directly with something like Audacity maybe?

Try it on a different computer. Surprisingly, this is a good thing Vista did for me. XP wouldn't copy a file, but Vista did. I plan on doing the CF mod soon too, but I've only had the CRC error happen once.
