Topic: trouble formatting my new r-09

howdy, y'all!  great site we got here.  very impressed.  here's my little problem.  i just bought an r-09, and a sandisk 2gb "microSD/transflash compatible"...

...it won't format...does it take over a 1/2 hour?  i came back to it after letting it try and it turned itself off.  when the card goes in, it still says no card...but it seems to show the card's capacity.  it also knew when i locked the card...i hit system reset, and i did stop the formatting (i think) by using the menu to leave that screen, then safely turned it off.  (i think).

rats!  i got a gig that i have to leave for before staples opens (i bought it there).

any pointers?  maybe i bought the wrong card?   maybe the machine is angry?

It should take about 10 seconds max.  I think you got the wrong card - it takes an SD card, not a micro SD card

what he said... plus, make sure you have the latest firmware too.

that was the problem!  i bought a mini card on accident.  took the r-09 to the store, and the proper sandisk ultra 2gb formatted in less than two seconds.  phew.  and like a little kid, i've been taping my band and myself and didn't get back here to thank y'all for the pointers! (discovering chris whitley ate a bunch of time too)  eh, no one lost sleep over it, but i do appreciate the site.
