To all R-09 owners
« on: March 26, 2007, 11:36:14 PM »
Hello All,

I was curious what everyone sets the levels at on the R-09 from a mixer.  I owned a microtrack, and set the levels at the bare minimum and got great recordings.  However after having three problems with the unit, I sold the unit.  Now I have been testing different units before I make my purchase.  Please respond with your comments or opinion on the unit.

I believe the consensus was that level 8 was most appropriate for line in.

I could be wrong but if I remember correctly from other peoples tests 8 is unity.  I bump it up when recording 24bit to record somewhat hot, -3 or so on the meters, that gives a bit of room in case the band steps it up..  I used to keep my 24bit levels lower but for some reason I seem to migrate to peaks at -3 weather on the R4 or R9.
