So I'm outfitting the new home and while I'll keep my heavy duty playback system in the basement AV room, I'm looking for something to set up a small 2 channel playback system in the upstairs main living room. I'll probably use a vintage Marantz Model 4400 Scope receiver that I have for the amplification and pair it up with an older Denon CD player that I have laying around. I'm looking for some suggestions for low cost 2 channel speakers. I'm leaning towards a smaller monitor or floor standing speaker and would like to keep the budget in the $400-600 range. My mains on my other system are Magenpans and I like the sound stage and highs they produce. This will be used almost exclusively for music playback both live and normal CDs. New or used so if you have Audiogon type reccomendations that is fine also
Suggestions?
