maybe just a standard 2 space rack mount shelf with a couple of pieces of velcro would work?

^^ what he said....or just a simple flat rack, folded into an 'L' shape, with velcro straps.

depends on what yu mean by rack mounting...

Target rack w/ V3 , and 722 within the same frame for protection:

i think he was going for a standard 19" rackmount....not a wire shelf.

Another direction to go (to minimize gear bag space):

I made aluminum rails to my V3 to keep from putting any pressure on the cables in the back.  I bought 1" aluminum bar stock and cut to length.  Drilled holes thru bar stock where current V3 mounting screws are on sides of unit and bought 6-32 x 3/4" screws to attach.  A little felt to protect the V3 body and I was good to go.    Also works for V2 and AD2K.
