so... i find my gear getting better and better. but im using the same old cables.... homebrew with canare/neutrik parts
what is the difference in between say a 50$ pair of these homebrew cables and a set of expensive audio magic cables that cost 4x the price
is it worth the money?
-
Hell NO!!!! If you can hear a difference, can I borrow your ears ;)
D

why do people spend 3-400$ on cables then? just because they are that anal about shit?

ive often wondered about that too cayman. I use $40 pair 15' whirlwind cables. I dont have any problems with em.

I have a pair of canare/neutrik cables & I also have some 15 ft Zaolla Silvers. If you've ever held a pair of the Zaolla's you would know right away they are way nicer than the canare/neutrik all the way around.
Can I hear the difference? I'm not sure. But you can feel & see the difference in the quality. I picked mine up for around 100 bucks.

I wouldn't expect ground-breaking changes, but if you've got the money to throw around.
I'd bet if you re-branded some starquad and put it in some of these guys' testing suites it'd be a purely psychological response. Tell 'em it's $50 a foot, they'll love it, tell 'em it's $0.50 a foot, they'll hate it.
