I plan to run them on a tasacm dr-1 with a stereo 1/8 mic input and/or stereo line in. Should i go phantom or pre?

I personally haven't owned them, but have looked at many threads trying to convince myself to buy/not buy a pair. you should do the same. I'm sure some owners will chime in here, but use the advanced search otpion and look for some "C4's" and read along. From what i've read, they have a great bang for their buck.

Go phantom for sure and pre if you can. I made some nice recordings w/ C4's>Ua5>NJB3 early on w/ moe2005-04-15 most likely being the best show I taped w/ this rig. Check it out here:

There is no figure of 8 capsule for the C4 AFAIK. There are 3 caps: cards/omni/hyper. Used to own a pair of these mics when I first started taping and they were very solid for the price.

One of the best mics for the price... Great beginner > mid-level taper...
Just a note, the C4s are Omni/Card/Hyper only...

Anyone have experience with SD MP2 and C4 mics? Samples? I would think the bassiness of the C4s and the clarity of the MP2 might go well together, but then again, it might not.

I ran this set up in to a Oade Mod SBM1 and it sounded great. Let me see which shows I recorded with this combo and I'll post back.
EDIT: Here is what I found!

Notes: Started lossing battery power during 2nd set so you will hear a hiss noise in the recording. Didn't take in to account battery run time! Oops!
