Title: Help with etree upload
Post by: drewski1986 on March 20, 2008, 04:23:14 PM
I've got my first upload going on etree.  It is The Bridge 2008-02-16.  It is going really slow and I wondered it anyone had any ideas how to move it faster.  I keep getting the problem with connecting to tracker error message after some time connected.    I have never had any problems downloading torrents from etree.  I'm using bit tornado.  I'm not sure what settings if any will help me upload faster.  Any ideas for a n00b?  Thanks

Derek,  I do have comcast.  It seems that if I close the torrent and restart it I get good speeds for a few seconds and then it backs down to a much slower speed.  It shows I am not connected to anyone either. I've got 9 people right now at about 25% and I don't think I'm sending them anything anymore.  This is really frustrating.  I would really like to get stuff seeded but I'm about to give up.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

You are likely being sandvined by Comcast.  If you enable encryption, you should connect to enough peers to seed properly.  I've had this problem with Comcast for over a year and with encryption enabled, don't have too much difficulty seeding.

Thanks for the info Rory.  How do I enable encryption?

Drew, I don't have it installed anymore and haven't used it in years, but it is on one of the Advanced options pages.  Maybe a BitTornado user can help with more specific instructions.

Switch your client to utorrent.
I am a comcast user also.
I have no trouble seeding at all.

I've got it working now.  I switched over to utorrent and am now uploading to etree.  Thanks for all the help.  This site has an unbelievable wealth of knowledge.  Thanks again.
