Title: iRiver H320 won't connect by USB
Post by: stantheman1976 on March 21, 2008, 07:52:18 PM
I got one of the H320's from overstock and am not trying to install Rockbox.  I followed the steps and upgraded to a newer firmware and now my when I connect the USB cable it won't go into USB mode to transfer the Rockbox files onto the 320.  Any ideas?

I've tried different USB ports.  Also tried restarting my PC and powering the 320 off and on while connected.

^ It didn't come w/ a charger.  Do you have an older computer?  You might possibly need to download a driver, although I never have.  Just an idea-

Those are firmwares and manuals.  I was following the installation instructions.  I installed the European firmware and now it won't connect.  If I plug into the data port it will start charging like normal but the media port won't connect to the PC like it did at first.

OK, I've got it now.  You have to turn off USB charging and use the data port and it works fine.  I got this baby Rockboxed and ready to go now.

I didn't realize what the Media and Data ports meant at first.  That threw me off since I didn't read the whole manual online.  I had also missed a step in the Rockbox installation.  Rockbox will automatically go into USB mode when plugged in and allow you to charge at the same time.
