I'm all new to taping and trying to put together my first rig. I have read a lot here on the site to try to avoid too many stupid questions. But there's a thing I cannot figure out.
I have:
NJB3 (bought on ebay)
AT831 (bought from Chris)
Batterybox (bought from Chris)
What kind of cable(s) do I need to connect the battery box with the NJB3. Is it just a jack to jack?
Anyone who can help me?

They all run on standard 1/8" connectors. Plug the mics into the input of the battery box and use a standard male to male 1/8" cable to go from the output of the battery box to the input of the JB3.
BTW, my old boss used to tell us "The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask". You won't learn if you don't ask questions.

thank you for answering my question

Don't forget to use line-in on the JB3.

Thanks Manko. I will.
Do you know if the quality/type of the male to male 1/8" cable will affect the recording in any way?

Try to use the shortest you can find to minimize any signal loss or added noise. With consumer 1/8" connections you are unlikely to notice any difference between different kinds unless you go with dirt cheap poorly made cables. Any cable you buy from a store should be fine.

Thanks for the advice.

be advised with some 1/8 jacks and a jb3 it will not go in far enough to make a solid connection
so
do tests at home to make sure yours does
if it doesn't then shave down the plastic on the jb3 around the input hole so the plug will go in a little farther

NickPicks made me a really nice cable. Send him a PM.
