I'm looking for something that I can use to do laptop recording. I would like something that I can take my digital out from my UA-5, and connect to my laptop via USB.
I want the UA-5 to do the A/D and just have the box transfer the digital signal.
What do they make?

all you need to do is hook the ua5 up via a usb cable
the ua5 will convert the analog signal to digital and export it over the usb/coax/optical outs
other then that you need a lappy that can keep up with the ua5 usb signal and capture it with a program like audacity

I did the digi mod.....I read that it disables the USB

yes and no
it disables the usb from being able to accept a signal from a pc but not from sending the signal to a pc

I do this all the time. Just use the USB cable to go to your lappy. I use Audacity, and just go into the preferences, and select the recording device as the UA-5.
