Title: Audio Technica 943 with R09 - Help!!
Post by: keekade on April 09, 2008, 07:37:03 PM
I have an Edirol R09.  I ordered AT943C mics (lapel) because I thought the R09 had true phantom power.  I have since found out they do not.  Unfortunately, I cannot change my order.   Can I get a battery module to work the 943's with the R09?    What battery module would work the best.  Thanks so much!

Check Soundprofessionals.com.  They have plenty of battery boxes to choose from.

Many thanks for the reply.  Is there a lapel mic out there that you can use with the R09 that provides it's own phantom power?

If you are going super low-pro, then you might consider Church Audio mics.  They run off the plug-in power of the R-09.

Many thanks!  Is the quality close to the AT943's?

Do you need "Phantom Power", or "Plug-in-power"?  Phantom is 48V and is normally used on "big mics".  Plug in power is something like 3-9V and is normally used for "small mics".  So normally your 943s would use plug in power, which the R-09 does provide, unless you specifically bought them with phantom power adapters.  If that is the case you need a phantom power supply, such as the Denecke PS-2.
