Title: Sped up tempos from recordings?
Post by: willyjbrown on April 09, 2008, 11:56:52 PM
I have noticed that in my last few recordings that the tempos of songs seem a lot faster than how they really are. It was VERY noticeable last night after listening to a recording from one of my band's last shows. Anybody have any ideas on why this happens or how to prevent it? For the record, I have an iRiver h120, 9V battery box w/ bass rolloff, and AT831s. Thanks!

I checked all of this on Adobe, which is what I use to mix and splice my recordings. Everything came up in 44100 16-bit as expected. I opened the files in other programs like CD Wave, yet still had the same problem. For the record, these recordings sound like they are about 10 BPM too fast. I stretched out my recording from last night by 3% and it was back to the real tempo, but I obviously had some quality issues.
