In a standalone tube-based headphone amplifier and seperate standalone DAC?
Considering that all of the givens are already applied such as volume control on the DAC, USB input for computer use etc.
What other features would you really like to see on these two products?

I would like for the Usb to be able to handle 24/96.
Most of the Dac's on the market with usb only handle 16/48 thru the Usb.
If that can't be done forget the usb and make it firewire.
Give the dac a tube output stage like the old sonic frontiers.
Don't go cheap on the Dac if it sounds better with a outboard power supply unit go for it.
Give the headphone amp enough power to drive akg1000's with room to spare.
Spend some time over on the Head-fi site those guys are headphone freaks.

ability to handle DXD, ability to have a similar function to the mytek "superlock" , 32, 44.1, 48, 88.2 & 96kS/s
88.2, 96, 176.4 & 192kS/s, DSD,1 Balanced pair, 1 Unbalanced pair, 2v or 6v full scale RMS switchable outputs..RCA, Toslink, BNC, SDIF inputs..,
..free from bloat and unneccessary shiny lights. rugged box that has no compromise sound quality(the Mytek is there, but no DSD or DXD unfortunately)
