Title: Batch Processing in OS X
Post by: John Kelly on April 24, 2008, 09:17:23 AM
So I was out of the taping world for a while, and the last time I was converting shows I was using Spark XL.  Now it appears that Spark will not run 10.5, and I was hoping to use the batch processing to convert a whole bunch of 24/96 tracks to 16/44.1.

What programs out there will do this now?  I have Wave Editor, Sound Studio, and Audacity and none of those seem to do it.

This will do it, but not for cheap.

that one gets good buzz around the forums.

I have just emailed Tony Faulkner to ask him if his creation, "Faulkner Downsample" is available for Mac OS. it is very very good.(and free)

What, pressing "Apple-key"+R (for Reduce wordlength/Resample) doesn't just make it happen automagically?  You do have a Mac, don't you?  :P

+T.  I have access to Sample Manager so I'll try it out.  Thanks!

I don't have a Mac.  You know, that key with the little apple on it...

(What the key actually looks like doesn't really matter...it was just a joke...)

Automator + Sound Studio will at least handle the resample.  As for dithering...keep looking.

How about Toast 7 or higher?  Drag them in to the window, as if you are going to burn a CD, then choose export.  Select sample rate and bit rate, and go.  It probably uses QT for the engine, but you might want to check on that.

And the "SWEDISH CAMPSITE" icon too! Don't forget that!
