Does anyone know of a good one? I do not have firewire on my PC and all my card slots are full otherwise I’d just get a firewire card.
Thanks in advance!

no such thing my friend. :)

Unfortunately, I'm afraid he's right. If your USB ports are on a card, you might consider replacing it with a card that has both USB and firewire.

What's this thing then?

i stand corrected then. seems like it would work.

So would that cable gadget allow you to connect USB drives and devices to a Firewire port? The USB ports on my Mac got fried and I have a few USB drives that I would like to be able to use again. Any info appreciated.

That cable doesn't convert USB to Firewire. Read closely.
Muliple connections include Standard USB A with an Adapter for mini A and FireWire on one end with Standard USB B, mini B - 5 pin and mini B - 4 pin, mini 8 pin flat, and Firewire on the other end. Use with PDAs, media players, cell phones, laptops, portable DVD players, camcorders, Digital cameras and more.
It's just the Leatherman of cables. No magic USB/Firewire adapter, though.

depending what you need it for a usb card reader may be easier (if in fact you need it for something with a card).
