i know this has been covered a bit but i seem to be having a slightly different problem, or i just don't understand what's going on.
i'm pretty sure i've been able to convert the sample rate of larger files without any problems and it's the first time i've seen this error. i'm working on a set that's 1.1 gigs and converting from 48>44.1, or trying to anyway. i have 38 gb of disc space and i have ran into that error before. can anyone explain how resampling a 1.1 gb files makes it over 2gb? i'm not adding anything to it.
it's easy enough to just split it into discs then do it, but i don't see why i should suddenly need to do this. :banging head:

your temp files are probably at 32bit float. change it under tools>options*.

yep. options > preferences > file. should work at 24 bit temp. it is best to use 32 bit float but sometimes this comes up and it needs to be changed.

thanks guys, i'll give that a shot.
temps are @ 32 float but i also have files @ 1.2 gb+ that would convert, just can't remember if i split the discs first? i've been using wavelab over 2 yrs., would've thought i'd have hit this before now.
+t's around for now, i'll see what happens in a couple.

no problem. as you said it really makes no sense why this happens with such a small file (1.2 gigs etc). even more confusing is how I can resample a 96k file that is 1.8 gigs without the error ???
