Title: DIY ADK Tube mod
Post by: Swanny on December 06, 2003, 04:43:04 PM
Heres a link to a page that has info on modding ADK LD & SD mics into tube mics. He also sells kits. Now if I can only figure out how to run these in the field....

Actually, I talked to David Royer about field powering, he said it would be no problem; use a couple small SLAs in series to get the different voltages.

What do you think these would sound like?  $170 improvement? Heh.. actually doesn't sound like a really tricky change though since your using a completely different board, suppose you could switch back too if you decided..

Sounds intriguing!  I have a pair of SC-T's sitting right here... :p maybe sometime down the road!

Hey there...
I would suggest the mod for the SD mics indeed, but remember that by replacing the PCB in a Vienna or Hamburg you will lose the frequency tailoring circuits.
