Title: Any idea what kind of microphone this is?

I've heard of some people using it with an iPod for concert recording, and I'm wondering if anybody might know what kind of microphone is contained within it.

(I have no intention of buying this...I'm just curious. Trying to learn, you know.)

I am not sure what the mic is, but this unit only records mono, at least I think it only records mono. The Belkin Tunetalk is stereo and imaged for music. I have used the Belkin and again don't know the mics contained, but they are capable of a decent recording. I took the unit to South America, and got some good local recordings. As long as I had my iPod with me, it seemed like and was a good idea. The preamp is noisey, but still you get a nice recording if care is used. When I first bought the Belkin, I tested it in NYC taping Scrapomatic at BB Kings Club. I taped the unit onto the wall above the fire alarm and left it there to record. I keep the unit upside down which works better (for me anyway) and then I can just switch the left right in post. At the same show between sets I switched to the MT 1 with it's T-mic for a comparison. That was far quiter and nicer, but both were very listenable enjoyable recordings.

There was a thread where we discussed all the "ipod mics" that are on the market. I posted a shoot-out between the micromemo and two other contenders here:

The winner? Neither of them! Ipod has so many severe limitations that it's useless for quality audio recordings. The MicroMemo won't change that, FWIW...
