I picked one of these up at Radio Shack today. Figured for the price it was worth a shot, but the Ekoostic Hookah show that I was going to test it out at tonight was cancelled. Has anyone every used this thing? If so, what were the good/bad points. The main one I see is the lack of a power light, but for $14.99 what can you expect.
I will use this when I patch w/ my Sharp MD-MT15.
All comments are appreciated. TIA

Not a clue about the device, but if you put the http:// tags around your link it'll list the complete link intact.

im not sure i totally understand what that is. Does it split the optical signal? If so MD would work fine, but i ve heard that the JB3 can't use a split optical signal.

It works the same way as the CO2 does. It converts either a digi coax > optical or optical > digi coax. It should work with my MD just fine. I'd guess it would work w/ a JB3 also. I was just wondering if anyone had any problems w/ it or if anyone had done any bit perfect tests on it.

It does what the CO2 does, yes, but doesn't work the same way...
The CO2 is a convertor AND repeater (the RS is only convertor). This means the CO2 will pass along (repeat) the coax digital signal as it splits off the optical (convertor).
The RS only does conversion. It will allow you to patch out of a DAT, but not participate in a daisy chain...
This assumes the CO2 is bit perfect, which it is not, by my own experience (my CO2 failed its first test this weekend).

I have used it w NJB3 for about 10-15 hours on 4-5 occassions. Worked fine. Have not tried split signal yet.
