listening to a brandy new copy of Lou Reeds "transformer"...
of course, I cue up walk ot wild side...., I've never heard the song in such fidelity. the rattle of the strings on the bass, the way the backup singers pan out and in...., fucking crazy imaging and sound stage.
brandy new German 180g pressing, that is. I can't wait for my wife to get home so I can play it for her. it was really one of those "holy shit" moments, like I was hearing the song for the first time.
crazy shit.
:)
i'm sure the CD sounds good too, I dont have it to A/B.

Do you have any of the 180g Velvet Underground LPs? I have White Light/White Heat and its great. A good 180g pressing of Rock 'n' Roll Animal would be very h0t.

Try Pink Floyd - Animals, or any of their other stuff.
Animals blows my mind with the clarity and separation on clean vinyl.

I'd love to hear that. I'll bet the "sonic landscape", so to speak, is much wider.

I just saw Lou do "walk on the wild side" live at his 5/5/08 highline ballroom show... ;) john zorn joined lou & the band for most of the show. "satellite of love" was one of my faves performed during this show.
