I took the two bottom phillips screws out, but the plastic cover is still firm on the unit where the line in and mic in are. Does it just snap off?
-
there is also a screw under the thin metal which you cannot see. you have to take that off gently to get to the screw. it's all explained in another thread i think.

Hmmm, what thin metal? I am still lost.

The BACK plastic COVER (with the four slide switches) peals off.
Pry the adhesive section of the thin plastic back cover that's ONLY held by 1/2 inch wide wide adhesive (underneath near mic/line input jacks), by gently prying the top seam held by the adhesive to let go of the rear panel.
Then the entire rear back section will pull off with the bottom 'tuck tabs' releasing last exposing the three screws.
Of course if you have already pulled the bottom section of the rear panel with the tabs off exposing the two bottom screws, then continuing working to free the top section (held by the adhesive tape) will also work to free the back panel exposing the remaining screw at the top.

+T guysonic and dreams. I got it to work. That 2-sided adhesive was strong on my R09.
