Looks like my powerex MH-c401fs AA charger is acting up as my batteries don't seem to be fully charging. (new batteries as well as old ones).
What are you all using to charge your AA's?
I need to be able to charge at least 4 at a time and it would be nice to be able to use it with in a cigarette lighter socket for use at festivals.
Anything out there that really stands out as being the best charger?
Is there any kind of meter that reads the batteries stored capacity?
I use only the Sanyo 2700mah AAs.
Thanks

Nice! Wonder if La Crosse makes one that can used with a 12 volt adapter?
Edit to ad: Found this one on the same site that will work with 12v.

This what I have. It's perfect.
FYI, Thomas Distributing is out-of-stock on the LaCross 900. June 12 back in stock. They fail to mention that until you after you order....

OOK
Until now I used a cheap no-name charger. Should I upgrade to a better model - I mean, is the difference tangible?

Yes, there is a huge difference....
Read about the features and the reviews of the LaCross bc900 and you will quickly see why you are not getting anywhere near the maximum capacity of your NiMh batteries using a typical charger...
I have a Maha PowerEx MH-C9000 WizardOne Charger-Analyzer for 4 AA / AAA
Absolutely brilliant.

I've been using this 8-cell "Smart" charger for a couple of years and it seem to work great. Has option to cycle the batteries (discharge/recharge) which is great for conditioning new batts.

I've also got that one (works great), and I think that Belexes recommended it to me. I also have the car adapter, but I had to buy that separately.
