Hello to all
I just purchased a Microtrack II and have some questions about it that are not in the manual or on line.
I will mostly be using it as recorder for voice interviews and narration, and some music recording.
I would like to use these mics with it as I got these http://www.naiant.com/xqspecification.html (http://www.naiant.com/xqspecification.html) as a gift and would like to use these with the 1/4" inputs. Would these work for my use.
I was going to buy these cables http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-MICROTRACK-XLRF-TRS (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-MICROTRACK-XLRF-TRS)
but I would like to have separate cables and do not like the idea of having the ends connected together. I have tried to locate these in 18" or 24" lengths but to no avail.
Also the manual states that it can record in mono on the left channel. Is this just a stereo file recorded to both tracks or a true mono file.
Also is there a way I can record to the digital input and still be able to go portable with it without breaking my back carrying equipment. Any recommendations on equipment to use.
Thanks in advance

Mind you, I don't have the MTII, I have the Microtrack I, but I think those mics should be okay. They are omni-directional which would work well for what you mentioned you'll be recording. As for the cables, we have a few choices when it comes to community cablers. Try this link and when contacting make sure you are specific to what you want and I'm sure any of these folks will build what you need.
