This is a partial set recorded with the internal cardioids in the XY pattern. This turned out pretty good. Check the pix for how far I was from the stage. Very little wind in the ampitheatre and mellow crowd made for good conditions to give this a try. My last try in the Handlebar didn't sound nearly this good (Victa Wooten back in Feb 2008). I'm loving this PCM-D50 more and more...and the gorillapod too!

Sounds great!

Wow, I can't wait for mine to get here! Wingfield shipped it today.
Which size gorillapod did you go with, the smallest?
Thanks,

Gorillapod-> I got the one from Best Buy. It probably is the smallest one but really strong and sturdy for the size.

Did you use a wind screen? if so, which one?

None. I was lucky that the wind was blocked by the trees.

Sounds awesome for internal mics...like soundboard+ambience noise for live feeling :) .

How is the line in recording on this unit?
-
I have never had any issues with line input. Very quiet and no problems with the jack following out either ;D

What kind of mics does it have? The recording you uploaded sounds great. I REALLY want one of these things now.

Did you use the low cut filter at all and if so, what frequency did you have it set at?
I am listening to the whole set now and looking at the pictures. That is an amazing recording! Great sounding little PA, I can't tell if there was a soundman or if they were running the sound from the stage.
That bass player has chops I can only dream about. Great rhythm section!
Thanks,

Yes, I did run the low cut filter, sorry for not putting that on the archive with the info.
I can't remember what I set it for and I don't have the unit with me as I am out of town. I think I used the 75Hz setting. Again, I'm not 100% on that. I think it turned out pretty good. I may get a dead rat windscreen for future recordings outside as I think this turned out good enough for such quick setup. Thanks for the comments.
